I'm a director/writer/producer (and former actor) who has worked in the industry since 2011 - after returning from a formative military and detective career. I've garnered awards from major fests for my feature screenplay, Charlotte Sometimes, and short films, including the Top-20 HBO Project Greenlight film "Whiskey Boys”, and the national wildcard-winning Lionsgate Twilight short "Masque,” which earned me a Women In Film award for directing at the Crystal and Lucy’s.
Previously festival-awarded short films, like “Cleave, and “My Pretty Maura” prepared me for my most recent work, “Of Mine”, which screened at Disney Animation Studios as part of the Alliance of Women Directors Short Film Program (where I was selected out of a competitive pool of highly qualified directors), and will be on the festival circuit in 2019. I am also the co-creator/writer/director for the sci-fi, “PURE" The Series currently in post production, and head of development at my production company, Sensorium Pictures.
Personally, I have a great respect for people from all walks of life, after growing up in trailer parks or my mother’s car, and having to turn down a partial scholarship for acting/film to get my tuition paid by the military. I hold a Bachelor of Science in both Psychology and Criminal Justice, with a minor in drama, which I earned simultaneously while working full time as a detective. Throughout my 15 years in law enforcement and the military, I was a highly-decorated and distinguished leader, instructor, and award recipient but always knew I would be returning to film and television - my true passion. After traveling to 14 countries, and living in Europe for 3.5 years, I also have an appreciation, love for and exposure to culture and the outdoors.
